Jack shows Meg his Tesla coil
Saturday was nice, sunny and warm, so we decided to drive up into the hills for a proper walk. I looked through my books and maps and decided on Crinkle Crags. The drive up the Wrynose Pass was ace, and the views were spectacular, but after we'd parked and walked for about 30 minutes we were in the clouds and couldn't see anything but the path in front of us. We carried on regardless and made it to the summit, but I couldn't tell you what it was like. Still, it was good exercise. We hired The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou in the evening. As with all Wes Anderson's films, it's a masterpiece: 10/10, perfect, absolutely marvellous. I'm halfway through Coffee and Cigarettes which is admittedly sooo pretentious - it's shot in black and white, there's no story, just 5 minute chats between 2 people at a time over coffee and cigarettes - but it's got some awesome dialogue and weird characters including Steven Wright, Iggy Pop and Jack and Meg White. I can't rate it yet though 'cos I'm only half way through it but it's enjoyable so far.
