Wombles
Wimbledon's been pretty good this year, especially since Tiger Tim lost in the first week, useless gimp. That Andy Murray's not much better. Just because he's young and it's his first Wimbledon is no excuse: he's a loser, always will be. Federer and Hewitt are battling it out at the moment, although it's a bit one sided. Hewitt is a brilliant player, and he's played some cracking shots, but he's no match for the Swiss. Federer is a modern-day Sampras, a tennis machine, an awesome player with all the shots and a sharp tactical brain. It's not much of a prediction half-way through the semi-final, but I think he'll win the tournament. Sharapova lost to Venus Williams yesterday. They're both freaks who started playing ultra seriously before they could talk (or something silly like that), one is American, another is Russian. It's a shame they didn't meet in the 80s when this sort of encounter could have represented the two nations' fight for supremacy, a bit like that Rocky movie with Dolph Lundgren as the Rusky boxing Sly Stallone the Yank. So it's Davenport vs Williams. It's not much of a prediction with just the final to go, but I think Davenport will win. At least I hope she does: she's not got much else going for her.
