Weekends are nice
Two hot sunny days for a weekend. Nice.
On Saturday we went for a little stroll up Gummer's Howe, a viewpoint at the south of Lake Windermere. It's not particularly high, and it's very easy to get to, but it was so hot we were exhausted by the time we got to the top. The views are lush though: this is pretty much the beginning of the hills so looking west, you can see everything, although it was a little hazy due to the heat.
We were planning to climb Great Gable on Sunday, but that's a rather large hill and would be too much on a hot day. So we changed our plans and walked around Elterwater, along streams, past waterfalls and through herb meadows. It was lovely.
I took a few pictures but it was so bright they're a bit washed out. You're welcome to take a look though.
