32nd birthday hill climb
Thanks to everyone who sent me presents, cards and best wishes for my birthday. And thanks to those who were discreet and kept quiet too: I know you were thinking of me. So we went up Harter Fell and it was good. The drive up there over the Hardknott Pass and along the Eskdale valley was lush. The walk up the hill was nice to start with but then got very steep and turned into a scramble (the dogs liked that bit). The summit was fantastic, with big lumps of rock jutting out, the tallest of which we climbed to get to the very top of the fell. We didn't stay long at the top because the snow was being blown so fast into our faces it was rather painful. On the way down we stopped at the Mediobogdum fort. It's nice up there.
