It turns out my work computer is just bust. I tried all the tricks but the fan just whirrs away at full speed regardless. So it's now all packed up in a box ready to be picked up to go to the fixers. They'll hopefully fix it and return it to me, fixed. The nice thing about stuff going off to be fixed is that they usually come back much better. However, in this case, it was just the noise of the fan that was the problem: everything else worked fine. Oh well. I'll have to bring little iBy to keep me going. Why I bothered with Goliath when David's so much better I don't know, but I suppose getting a laptop for work when I work in an office all day long is hard to justify.
Our Easter weekend was spent scraping wallpaper off the walls and ceilings. It wasn't fun and was in fact pointless: our builders have quit. We'll get some more builders, that's not a problem, but we'll never get the Easter weekend back. It's true what they say: a long weekend spent scraping wallpaper off walls and ceilings is shit.
We did have a nice Saturday though. It was Corrie's birthday so we went for a lush walk in the hills (there was a mountain rescue involving helicopters and everything, which was quite exciting) and stopped off at a garden centre on the way back (Corrie likes plants), before going for a rather delicious dinner at our local resturant.
