I'm back from my little holiday in the Scottish highlands.
We had a nice time. The tiny two-room cottage was in a village called Kentallen, about 18 miles south of Fort Willian, on the shores of Loch Linnhe. Although it was cloudy most of the time - and drizzling - we still went for walks and drives and things like that. Well, we wouldn't have done anything if we'd waited for some good weather!
On the first day we stayed local and did a little walk around the woods near the Pap of Glencoe. We spent the afternoon in Fort William, which was nice.
On the second day we did a big walk up Beinn na Caillich (764m) that was 7 1/2 miles and took us 5 hours: I was knackered by the end, but Corrie was barely out of breath.
On the third day we took a cable car up Aonach Mor where we walked in the driving rain to a viewpoint at Sgurr Finnisg-aig where we saw some lovely white clouds. We drove to Oban in the afternoon to have a little look-see.
On our last day we stopped by Loch Lomond for a stroll before continuing south back home.
I'd like to say it's nice to be back home. And I can, because it is nice to back in the lovely Lakes.
