At last I've managed to sit down for ten minutes with iBy and sort out my Scotland pics. Here you go... Ben & Corrie's little Scottish holiday
I went to London on Thursday/Friday for an email training course - it was good. Whilst I was there I popped into the Apple store and accidentally spent £50 on accessories for my new iPod - whoops! Apple sure make some nice stuff. But if you're an Apple fan, my advice to you is not to go to an Apple store. Of course, everything looks cool, all the latest gadgets are on display, there's a cinema, 'genius bar' and all that. But there's also a store full of dorks who think they're cool because they like Apple stuff. I admit, I thought it was cool to like Apple stuff, a bit alternative, 'think different' and all that. But not any more. In the store that day I had an epiphane: it's all just computers. For some reason I'd got carried away with the whole 'design supremecy' of Apple and really thought they were the pinnacle of modern life. But when I saw that store full of dweebs buying piles of white Applephenalia, I realised it's all just the same consumarism as you get in Dixons: the only difference is that the stuff's really nice. So that experience, coupled with the fact that every other person I saw in London had a pair of white earphones snaking up to their ears, has reminded me that my personal philosophy is true: we're all just atoms among atoms, each unique but pretty much the same.
