I've only had my Land Rover 3 days and I've already broken it :-(
I went for a quick drive up in the hills last night and broke the gearbox. I had to abandon it in the rain. I got a lift home in a Metro and rang the RAC and they came in a truck and took it away. It's now over in Kendal waiting for me to order a new gearbox.
It's ok, I expected the gearbox to go - the originals are known for being a bit feeble and breaking - and getting a lovely solid new one in there will be good, even though it's going to cost me a fair amount.
The thing that's really got me though is that I still haven't driven it in the daylight! This weekend was going to be spent bombing around the Lakes trying it out and going new places, perhaps even off-road. But this isn't to be. Instead it's sat in a garage somewhere in Kendal whilst I'm stuck here in Windermere. I'm totally gutted about that, much more than having to fork out even more money on it. Oh well.
