The bloody estate agents dealing with the house are utter shite! I made my offer yesterday at noon and was told they'd get back to me. Nothing for the rest of the day. Then nothing this morning. So I rang at lunchtime - the lady was busy but she'd call me back. Nothing. So I rang back after an hour and left another message. Nothing. So I rang back again and finally spoke to someone - didn't I know that there were already 2 offers in over what I'd offered? No! Nobody told me that in all the time I've been waiting to hear about the offer I made! Bloody buggers. It turns out that there is one offer £10k more than ours that hasn't been accepted and another £12k more but they've got a house to sell. They haven't been turned down either - the vendor just does nothing. So that's where things are now. Grrrr! So do we offer what is basically the asking price or hang on and see if we can get it for less, risking losing it to someone else? Mmmm, something to think about on the drive home I think.
