When a customer buys something - anything - and finds there's a bit missing or broken, they ring us up. Then we go into a cupboard and find that piece from the selection of spares, pack it up and send it off to them. That's what I did this morning.
When a customer waits for 5 days and still hasn't got their parcel, they ring us up. We then check the delivery status with one of the 6 couriers we use and then either let them know where their parcel is or send them a new parcel overnight. That's what I did this afternoon.
What all this has to do with being a Web Editor is quite obvious. But it's the way they induct newbies and in a way it's good: I get to know who everyone is and what they do and how they do it. But it's a bit boring.
Tomorrow I've been taken out of my induction programme to do some work: the products for the next catalogue have been selected so us in marketing are going to spend the day playing with them and getting to know them. And we get lunch. That should be good.
No walk today - it was quite nice but my foot is still sore and swollen so I'm giving it a rest. Instead I watched 'Matchstick Men' with Nicolas Cage. It's very good and he's brilliant in it. I found it quite sad even though it's actually got a happy ending.
So that's today. I didn't see any interesting wildlife today although I did see a dead rabbit - sorry Emma. I also saw a little lamb lying next to a wall all on his own - his flock was the other side of the cattle grid. He looked tired and cold and I felt sorry for him but I think he'd have been ok - he had his jumper on.
