I've been in the Lakes since last night - it sure is nice up here. I'm staying here for the time being. I drove up on the hot Saturday afternoon and, when I arrived and after saying hello to everyone (who were all very busy because it was dinner time), unpacked all my stuff and sat about. Today me and Benn went for a walk up the hill behind the hotel and walked down the stream to get back, sort of reverse ghyll scrambling. It was lush, especially because it was a hot day and the stream was lovely and cool. I slipped on a rock and bashed my foot up - it's got a massive golf-ball size swollen bit now.I also cut my other foot on a branch and sliced my hand on some rocks. But it was still a nice way to spend the afternoon.
So tomorrow is my first day at my new work. It's exciting! I'll tell you all about it when I can.
