I've been all over the place recently: warehouses, offices, up mountains, to Chinese restaurants. It's been good actually.
One of the girls in my office (which isn't really my office but it will be when my induction's finally over) left yesterday to start her maternity leave. She's just bought a house. It turns out it's the house that my friend used to live in but had to move out of 'cos his landlord had sold it. Small world.
At the girl's leaving dinner (at the Chinese restaurant) I sat next to one of the bosses. There are 3: one managing director, one marketing director and one buying director. I sat next to the marketing director. He was ace, a little intimidating but a really interesting chap and very friendly.
I learned today that companies have to pay the government for packaging waste. This means that if you buy a jar of jam, the company you've bought it from will have to give the government some money. The amount they have to give depends on the weight of the packaging waste, which in this case would be glass and metal. I never knew that and I think it's amazing - the government sure are cheeky buggers.
I saw a sheep try to jump over a cattle grid the other day. She didn't make it all the way across and got her front legs stuck - it was nasty! She managed to get out and was ok, but I was worried for a while.
