I played in my last tennis match for the Cardiff Lawn Tennis Club team yesterday, with my partner Neil, the team captain and club chairman. We've played the last 2 matches together and won every 'rubber' (each 'rubber' is 2 sets). This match was important: my last one for the team and our last one of the season. We played very well and thrashed our first 2 sets of opponents. The 3rd pair were more formidable and it took us a lot longer and a considerable amount of effort to beat them but we did and we were delighted. Over lunch, Neil gave a little speech and presented me with a club tennis shirt and everyone clapped and wished me well. I thought that was really nice.
The house is good to go. We spent all of Saturday moving stuff out of our house down to our storage space at the Big Yellow Storage place down the road. It took 4 car trips and 1 to the tip to get it all done. Bikes, BBQ, boxes of clothes and shoes, winter duvets, workbench....all gone from our little house. Hopefully people who come and view will think "My, what a spacious and well-kept home. I think we should buy it".
The 'for sale' sign is to go up today - I expect we'll be inundated with visitors once it is!
