I played squash on Friday. Now, as you know, I have only ever won twice, both times 3-2. We've probably played a hundred times and I've only ever won by the narrowest of margins. This time however, I THRASHED him! 1st game: 9-2, 2nd game: 9-3, 3rd game: 9-4, 4th game: 9-6. Yes dear readers, I won 4-0! I played like a demon, everything was within my reach and the ball did whatever I asked of it. It was great and I was very pleased with myself.
On Saturday I played in a tennis match. These Saturday afternoon matches usually go on for ages and this one was no exception. We started at 1pm in the scorching afternoon sun and played through till 5:30pm. It was so incredibly hot out there we were all pretty much knackered after the 1st match, let alone the 3rd. Anyway, I played ok but was struggling in the heat. We won our 1st match and our 2nd and were 5-1 down in the 1st set of our final match. I'd all but given up then thought, "hey, at least try". So, with a bit of effort, we crept our way back to 5-4...then lost the set. But we had broken our opponents and won the 2nd set 6-1 and then finally won the match. It was great and I was very pleased with myself.
On Sunday we went to the beach and walked all the way along and then up onto the cliff and all the way back. It was lovely. The dogs had a great time chasing each other across the sand and into the shallow waters. They thought it was great and were very pleased with themselves.
