I really like hearing about excellence. No matter what the field, the circumstances or the people involved, I love hearing about people that are utterly brilliant at what they do. I suppose it's the same sort of thing as people liking superheroes, or the reason for the Guinness Book of Records being popular.
Here's an interesting story about how amazingly good Google are. They're a computer-geek superhero!
And last night's 'Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare' was ace - he's not just a top chef but a really good kitchen and people manager. I like the fact that he's so obsessed with what he does that he doesn't allow any of his brain to deal with being nice. He's a cooking superhero!
