Bank Holiday weekends are funny things. Saturday and Sunday are normal, of course, but there's a hint of something special about the Sunday. That's because the next day, the Bank Holiday Monday, tags itself onto the weekend so that the Sunday is no longer the last day of the weekend. Yippee!
Of course, the Monday that is pretending to be all cool and weekendy is actually a bringer of false hope, delaying the inevitable return to work by one measly day. Once Monday starts, it's instantly obvious that it's the last day of the weekend and then everything's pretty much back to normal.
