As I sat at my keyboard trying to complete the first entry for my new and improved serious blog, I remembered what my creative writing teacher and life-coach Stefan St Evans once told me: just write about what you know.
I looked at the text on the screen and sighed. Who was I kidding, I'd never even seen a prostitute, let alone been one, so why was I writing a blog about life as a London call girl. I should take Stefan's advice and write about watching TV, doing bad DIY jobs around the house and walking the dogs.
On Saturday I did some shopping in town and bought some trousers, a T-shirt and some presents for Corrie's birthday. In the afternoon we went up to the hills to walk the dogs - it was raining. On Sunday I tried to hang a door but succeeded only in trimming it a little too much and taking the skin from one of my knuckes. In the evening we watched 'The Long Kiss Goodnight' which is an ace film.
Ah, that's better! It's nice to be yourself instead of trying to impress the world. Sorry Paper Mate, I don't think the Guardian will be taking any notice.
