The plumber is now on day two in the great 'doing the bathroom up' project.
I took yesterday off to get him started and, although my involvement was limited to making him one cup of tea and showing him where a plug was, I feel as if it was a day well spent. I did do other stuff too: I made the sink cabinet and cut the (solid wood) surface to accommodate the sink and taps. It looks nice. I also tidied up.
Today, the plumber is putting in the bath (a lovely plain white steel bath, none of that stupid pink corner bath/jacuzzi for us anymore), connecting up my lovely sink, sorting out the shower (which probably won't work because we don't have enough water pressure) and maybe fitting the radiator. He's going to come back tomorrow to remove an old gas fire and generally finish everything off.
It's all very exciting.
