I saw a badger last night.
I felt I'd seen a badger before but when I thought about it, I realised that this sighting was my first.
Surely not - I must have seen one before?
Well, I couldn't recall having seen one before.
Yet I wasn't overly excited by seeing what was, it seemed, my first badger. Was this evidence that I had seen one before?
