babyatom's BIG BLOG was somewhere for me to air some thoughts and tell you about what I'd been up to between March 2003 and January 2006. I'm now here

I was talking to some guy the other day (don't recall his name, perhaps it was Zac) and he said that he worked in a bank. A big bank that has offices all over the world.
I was impressed by this, and also by his smart suit, so I invited him to join me at my local club for a game of squash. He said he'd not played squash in years, but that he's got lots of friends that have, because he works in a bank, one that has offices all over the world.
We met in the bar beforehand and had a few pints of Stella Artois beer. Zac played on the fruit machine while I bought enough bags of dry roasted peanuts to reveal the lady's bikini top. After a game of pool and a toasted baguette sandwich, we made our way to the changing rooms, stopping off to buy a putter and 3-wood from the pro-golf shop.
We got changed and sauntered down the corridor to the courts. Zac had a very fancy pair of Nike trainers with air in, I had a really smart racquet with bat-gut strings and a fluorescent grip.
We did some stretches for a few minutes and had a few sips from Zacs hip flask, then started warming up the squash ball by hitting it as hard as we could against the front wall. Zac said he loved this bit as it reminded him of his first wife.
The first game went pretty quickly as I was sick a couple of times in the corner and slipped over on it, bruising my shin. Zac laughed the first time, but showed genuine concern the second time.
The second game went my way, mainly due to the huge whack I gave his poncey head with my foot when he was doing up his shoelace. He was dizzy most of that game and actually fell over near the end.
We took a short break to have a quick drink and a couple of beef and stilton pies. The game was quite even after that, both of us winning a game each.
At two games each we decided to make it a bit more interesting: £3.50 to the winner. I must admit it certainly made me concentrate! The chatting stopped and the serious playing started, but unfortunatley he won. He won fair and square, so it was ok.
We had a quick shower (he didn't have any shower gel so I sold him some of mine for £2.75) and then got changed (I'd hidden one of his socks and offered to find it for him for 75p, which I did) and then returned to the bar for a couple of pairs of pints and four double whiskey chasers. Zac suggested we eat enough peanuts to reveal the lady's hips, so we spent a few minutes doing that before playing the 'Crystal Maze' game that's next to the gents.
We left the club around 1:30pm and Zac jumped into his rather flash Micra 1.2 to go back to work. I'd taken the afternoon off so I walked into town and bought a jumper.
